Born in 1999 in northern Iran, Tina Massumi is a photographer based in Marseille, France.

Her work explores exile, belonging, and how communities are shaped through shared experiences. Moving between documentary and fiction, her practice is rooted in self-portraiture and draws from Iranian cinema and Persian poetry, using others as extensions and reflections of the self.

Tina has exhibited multiple times, both individually and with SOLAR, a collective of women photographers she co-founded in Marseille. She has received scholarships from the Penumbra Foundation’s Long Term Photobook Program in New York and the Magnum Photos Workshop with Newsha Tavakolian, and in 2025 was awarded the UPP Prize in Paris.
